On a day in which CSUSM women's soccer recognized the contributions of its seniors, the squad won big at home, 13-0 over Southwestern College (AZ).

CSUSM finishes the regular season 8-4-4 and on a four game winning streak. Southwestern closes out its season, the first in program history, 0-16.

The Cougars got a hat trick from Lauren Johnson, and goals from Angela Matera, Clarissa Hidalgo, Arielle Cohen (2), Taylor Ziencina, Kristin Poggioli, Lexi Pollard, Lucia Asbury, Shelby Bush, and Kelly Wherry. The game was 11-0 at halftime.

But the day wasn't about the scoreboard; it was about celebrating the contributions of the outstanding seniors on this year's squad. It was the final home game for captains Kelly Wherry, Angela Matera, and Courtney Drummond - all of which have been so vital to the growth of women's soccer at CSUSM. It was also the last home game for Clarissa Hidalgo, who scored the program's first goal back in 2006 against CSU Pomona, rock-solid defender Alex Quindt, and super sub Noelle Torres.

In just four years, Coach Ron Pulvers' squad has been built from the ground up, and is now looking forward to its second-consecutive post-season appearance. The A.I.I. Tournament will take place on November 13th and 14th, and CSUSM is looking to defend its 2008 title. Follow the action online at www.csusmcougars.com!
