Jorge Villalobos, receiving a BA in Literature and Writing major with a writing concentration, said, "I feel very excited and happy to be graduating. It is a very satisfying and rewarding moment which makes me think of all the challenges I had to face throughout this journey. And now that I am graduating, I feel that I can achieve many more challenges to come. Having a BA gives the power and will to continue on my professional growth to go on to grad school and obtain a Master's in Literature and Writing."

When asked where he sees himself in five years, Villalobos answered, "I see myself working as a teacher at a community college teaching English or English as a Second Language. I also see myself writing and publishing my work. It might sound a little too dreamy, but I believe in dreams. Obtaining a BA in Literature and Writing was my dream, and it came true."

Yareli Gama, receiving a BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Education, said, "Now that I have graduated, I feel that I have accomplished something very important in my life. I feel that all the effort and sacrifice that I put into my education has become to an end and I am proud of it. I came to this country when I was 17-years-old following a dream, the dream of having a better education, and 11 years later, now that I have graduated and that I have a profession, I can say that I have reached that dream. I look forward to put in practice everything that I have learned. My passion has always been to work with children and it is for this reason that I decided to become a teacher. I want to help students learn all what they have to and help them reach their goals. I want to be one of those teachers that can make a difference in a student's life."

That Maya seems like she's got her head on straight. She's going somewhere.
