Bison Brewing brews and bottles the six award winning USDA approved organic Chocolate Stout in Chino, California. Bill Owens founded the brewery in 1989 with current Berkeley, California Mayor Tom Bates. Since 2002, the brewery has only produced full organic beer.

BevMo retails six 12 fluid ounce bottles of Bison Chocolate Stout for $8.99. The dark brown glass bottle features a buffalo cast in a shadow standing on a grassy field. White, tan, brown, and black colors comprise the label. A black and white bottle cap featuring the company's logo seals a beer with a higher than average 6.1% alcohol by volume.

The brew pours a thick black syrup creating a modest head that dissipates into a thin lancet. A rich sweet chocolate caramel concoction boldly rises from the glass.

The beer enters the mouth smooth then gently massages all areas of the mouth like a Jason Mraz melody. A delicious chocolate residue coats the tongue as the contents fall down below. A bitter jolt occurs between sip and swallow that lasts long enough to excite the taste buds.

The elegant beer should pair well with desserts that do not include chocolate such as vanilla ice cream or peach cobbler pie. Avoid consuming with regular dinner options.

Chocolate lovers are definitely going to love Bison's Chocolate Stout. However, non-chocolate lovers will enjoy the tasty treat as well. Down the hatch!
