The Krikorian Metroplex off Main Street in Vista, Ca houses movie theaters, restaurants and a variety of other kinds of entertainment. It is also conveniently located within walking distance from the Vista Transit Center Sprinter station.
CSUSM students who live and work in North County may find themselves drawn to the vista Metroplex at some point during the semester for a distraction from studies. Students will have access to a range of discounts such as movie tickets from ASI for a better price than is available at the ticket window.
Also, a round trip Sprinter ticket cost about the same as a gallon of gasoline for only $4. Dinner can also be expensive in these vulnerable economic times so I suggest the El Callejon Mexican restaurant for its happy hour menu and convenient location.
The happy hour menu is available Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the bar area only and offers a two-for-one discount on margaritas and well drinks. There are also a variety of food options available priced between $2.50 and $7.25.
From the regular dinner menu I recommend the Al Pastor tacos for a Ciudad de Mexico meets California experience. Slow cooked chicken or pork topped with cilantro and pineapples rested on a bed of freshly made corn tortillas.
