Lyric Opera San Diego is opening its 30th anniversary season with the production of the Broadway smash hit musical "Candide." When Lyric Opera previously ran the show, it sold out its entire run, according to Lyric Opera's press release.

"Candide," a comedy based on the novella of the same name by the French philosopher Voltaire, is a story of self-discovery and adventure, intertwined with a touch of romance.
